Hawk

Large dog sitting upright in living room.

Hawk is a majestic, great Pyrenees with a thick, Snow White coat, and a calm, watchful gaze that misses nothing. Towering yet a gentle giant, he carries himself with quiet dignity. A natural guardian of the Daufuskie community farm, the land he calls home. His favorite pastime and solemn duty is his nightly patrol of the farm. As dusk settles and the stars emerge, Hawk begins his rounds. Whether it’s a rustle in the underbrush or a raccoon looking for a chicken dinner, hawk is always ready. His presence is a reassuring constant in the dark. Loyal, noble, and ever vigilant, Hawk is more than a dog, he’s a farm steadfast sentinel. Each night he covers 5 to 7 miles in the farm’s 8 acres.

Favorite food. Not any dog food will do. He wants his people’s food.

Favorite pastime. Sparring with Charlie, the rooster or destiny the goat. And of course, rolling or sliding in the snow. He really appreciated the winter snow we had this year.

Favorite challenge. Playing Houdini!!! Visiting Miss Pat, Farfari’s Roost, the Distillery, but if he has time he returns to Miss Pats and knocks on her kitchen door. Then he comes in for a nap to await Iva to recover her problem child.
