Coloring, It’s not just for Kids

Coloring has been shown to reduce stress. It calms the brain and helps your body relax. In a world with so much stimulation and noise, coloring helps you be in the moment. It gives your mind the gift of focusing on the rhythmic movements, color choices, and staying in the lines. It allows you to shut off the noise around you ,stopping the 24 hour news ticker of worries that so often run through our minds.

Research shows that coloring relaxes the amygdala, the “fear center” of your brain, bringing about a meditative state. As you color, pay attention to your breathing, say a prayer of gratitude, appreciate the ability to let go and just breathe.
